Recently Mako Mining & RUC Mining joined forces to participate in a JV tender bid for Silver Lakes Rothsay Gold Project–300km NNE of Perth. MAKORUC was specifically established to deliver on the strengths of both companies’ core services. With a focus on mine grade, Mako’s objective was to utilise narrow vein expertise and equipment for ore driving and stoping, whilst RUC’s ability to deliver on large scale development, haulage and raise boring services ensured all bases were covered.

Julian Laws – Managing Director:

“I would like to thank Barry Upton and the dedicated RUC Tender Team for all the effort put into the joint submission for the narrow vein mining scope at Silver Lake’s – Rothsay Project.

“Although we were unsuccessful with our joint bid, we thoroughly enjoyed the experience of working with a much-respected contractor within our industry and look forward to other future opportunities when they may arise.”

“The benefits of such a JV are clearly there for mine owners and operators alike. The additional focus and attention to detail from a narrow vein specialist such as Mako, coupled with the proven capacity and reliability of RUC delivering the larger capital works – it plays to the strengths of both companies and delivers a premium service to potential clients.”

“Also, many thanks to Mako’s dedicated and professional Engineering Dept including Andy Rich and Jon Wall for the tremendous effort put in whilst working closely with RUC’s Tender Team – thanks again to all involved.”
