Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter – Underground Site Mechanic
FIFO Forrestania- Work Type – Permanent
- Location – Forrestania Nickel Operations (1-hour flight from Perth)
- Roster – 8:6 / 7:7 FIFO from Perth
- Pay Rate – $60 – $65 per hour

We have an opening for an experienced Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter with experience on OEM mobile equipment (Caterpillar, Atlas Copco, JCB, and Normet) for an immediate start.
The position will require self-motivation, drive, and multi-skilling. The ideal candidate should be proactive, and forward thinking, with a with strong ability to foster a culture of innovation, and collaboration within a team environment.
Preferred Criteria Includes
- Must have full working rights in Australia
- Heavy Duty Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification (Australian recognised)
- 5-10 years’ experience in underground Heavy Duty fitting
- Extensive working knowledgeof Atlas Copco drills and Cat Loaders
- Current & valid Australian Drivers Licence
- First Aid Certificate
- Safe Working at Heights
- Current & valid Dangerous Goods Security Card
- Dogging and Rigging High Risk Licence
- Automotive Air Conditioning
- Dual Trade (HD Fitter/Auto-Electrician) advantageous
- Preferred candidates reside in Western Australia
Responsibilities
- Conduct scheduled and preventative maintenance
- Carry out repairs, fault finding and attend break downs underground
- Achieve machine reliability
- Provide technical support to site maintenance team
