Shift Supervisor – Underground Development & Production

MAKO Mining is a specialist underground mining contractor focused on safely delivering high productivity and professional results in all narrow vein mining applications. The Company has a track record of consistent safety and production, at all times meeting our Client’s expectations.

We are seeking expressions of interest from experienced Underground Shift Supervisors. The position will require self-motivation, drive and multi-skilling. Ideal candidates will be proactive, and forward thinking, with a with strong ability to foster a culture of inspiration, innovation and collaboration withina team environment.

Preferred Criteria Includes
  • Must have full working rights in Australia
  • WA Underground Shift Supervisor’s Certificate of Competency
  • 5-10 years’ experience in underground mining
  • Extensive working knowledgeof practices and techniques applied in metalliferous underground mining, and Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations
  • Current &valid Australian Drivers Licence
  • First Aid Certificate
  • Safe Working at Heights
  • Current & valid Dangerous Goods Security Card
  • National Police Clearance
  • Preferred candidates reside in Western Australia
Responsibilities
  • Accountable for the supervision, leadership and direction of an underground mining team
  • Coordinate daily activities of underground miners in accordance with relevant production schedules
  • Meet targets, minimise costs and identify, review and implement process improvements
  • Requirement to do some ‘hands on’ work in underground areas
  • Ensure all operational personnel are properly trained, rotated and supervised
  • Manage and maintain the reporting of workplace hazards and incidents, ensure effective risk mitigation, and participate in incident investigations
  • Promote a positive safety culture

Candidates will need to be physically fit and meet pre-employment criteria including drug and alcohol screening and full medical.
